Field Theory
Research projects suitable for undergraduate participation are currently
in the area of gravitational physics, which is described by Einstein's
general theory of relativity. Our goal in this particular class of projects
is to give a comprehensive treatment of gravitational fields with symmetry.
Extensions of our results to other types of interactions are also being
considered. This work is mathematical in nature and requires a relatively
high proficiency in multivariable calculus and linear algebra. The student
can also expect to work with a computer, using software developed in the
Maple symbolic manipulation environment.
