Can you really see more stars away from the city lights?

 

Choose several locations with varying degrees of light pollution.  Sample the number of stars that are visible in each location by counting the stars that you can see through a short tube (paper towel roll etc.).  Take enough samples in different directions in each location so that you can calculate an average.  Report on your findings.
