Class Format

¤      39 Lectures; {19 lectures}

¤      4 written exams and 1 laboratory exam; {2 written exams and 1 laboratory exam}

¤      A lab fee is required for this course in order to pay for lab materials and set-up. It should have been paid at registration.

¤      14 World Wide Web based homework assignments {7 Web assignments}

¤      14 recitation quizzes (on Thursdays only); {7 recitation (on Thursday only) quizzes}

¤      10 laboratory sessions; {5 laboratory sessions}

 

Textbook

Physics for Scientists and Engineers, with Modern Physics, 2nd Edition. Randall D. Knight. (This can be the 5-volume paperback set or the full hardback, but should include an access code either way. As a used text you generally must obtain the access code from the publisher—Addison-Wesley). As of fall 2008, the 2nd edition is new and therefore there will be no used texts actually available yet.

Note 1: PHYS 2200 ends on Monday, 13 October after completing week 7 homework and Exam 2.

Note 2: Final Exam is on Wednesday, 10 December from 11:30 to 1:20.

 

FINAL EXAM IS ON WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 10 FROM 11:30 TO 1:20.

 

There is a lab fee for this class. It covers maintenance, supplies, and labor set-up costs for the labs. (Note: Some scholarships will not pay for this fee, even though they pay full tuition costs. Scholarship students have been dropped form the class without notice for not paying the fee).
