- Goals:

- Understand the role of symmetry in determining the basic types of field.
- Learn canonical quantization of free fields: scalar, spinor, vector.
- Learn the path integral approach to interactions.
- Solve scattering problems in quantum electrodynamics (QED)
- Understand the standard model of particle physics.
